Let’s have a little chat about marketing. If you know anything about me you know that I LOVE marketing, I might even be a little obsessed….
So One common mistake I see massage therapists making with their marketing is running promotions, but not having a good solid foundation of a marketing strategy. So what exactly is the difference? Marketing strategy is your overall consistent plan, these are the things you do on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. This is what gets potential clients interested in your business, and let’s them know that you exist and how you help people. A promotion, is a specific offer designed to get clients to take action, such as a new client offer or gift card special. So, promotions are part of your overall marketing strategy, right?
For example, you might use Facebook Ads, Rack Cards, Newsletters, Website, Direct Mail and Networking events as your strategy, and promote different services and offers within those marketing strategies.
You won’t always get instant results with marketing, it’s the consistency that pays off over time. What if you spend $5 a day on Facebook Ads 5 days a week for a month and only get two calls? Is that successful or not? Most therapists would say no, that is $100 spent with only two appointments!! Maybe a $20 profit, or less after expenses, right? Well if one of the clients rebooks weekly at $70, that’s $3,500 over the year. Is that worth the investment of $100? It is in my book, but many people are too quick to say “that didn’t work” or “it wasn’t worth it”.
Of course you should track your growth and results. So you can do more of what works and less of what doesn’t! Keeping your name and business “out there” is important and it does pay off.
